Hello, I’m what’s known as a budget gamer who plays video games on a 6 year old laptop known as the HP pavilion g7 (I know blasphemy) and recently (about the beginning of last week) my integrated keyboard started encountering a bug.

my keyboard randomly just dies and after a quick restart of the computer (which on this bad laptop isn’t quick) the keyboard starts working again like magic.

I tried cleaning the keyboard, as well as reinstalling the keyboards drivers but nothing yielded any results

I don’t think I have to explain the pain this situation has caused me, making me become even more of a bot on league of legends then I already am, unable to complete sortie missions on warframe, and I can’t even play some Minecraft bedwars,  (that was a meme btw) but seriously this is causing me some problems and if any of y’all can help my fix this problem it would be greatly appreciated

i assume this is a software issue I am on windows 8.1 no apps are running when it dies (accept Hp cool sense and one drive), and id assume there’s not error reports I can send

Sounds like a hardware defect, not a driver issue. What model is your laptop, specifically?

I’ve already turned off the laptop and trying to go to bed I’ll send it tomorrow , it is six years old so I understand that it will have some problems, however what makes me think I can fix it is that every time I restart the laptop it works fine for 20mins
