Hi, guys it's me again coming back to ask all you useful folk a question.

This will be my build should all go to plan. All I need to get is a new gpu (upgrade from 970). I am wondering if the PSU will be enough or will I have to upgrade. I am on a tight budget so I don't really mind if there is no upgradeability in future due to power constraints.

This is the PSU:20190826_165940.thumb.jpg.a858c334cb042c65d141a15cba5c2270.jpg

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Sam

Everything is already got as it was an upgrade since the start of the year from what I had before. i don't really have the funds to get a new power supply as Ive factored in selling my 970 as part of the budget.

Yes it will work.  That's plenty of wattage for the system you have spec'd.  That said, the PSU isn't a great unit.  If you can save for a better one later on, I'd do it.

I will be able to save for one in the future so as long as it is enough that's great.

It should probably work for now, but replace it with something tier B from the LTT tier list when you get the money.

Is the 80+ rating system a system of efficiency or reliability?

only efficiency.

Ah ok, For me I'm living in fully inclusive student accommodation for 3 years so it doesn't seem worth it to fork out the extra for an 80+ bronze, Silver or gold. I am just better off getting a new PSU from a trusted manufacturer with a good warranty? or am I missing something in the term efficiency?

don't worry that much about the efficiency rating, focus on getting a good quality PSU instead. don't look for PSUs based on brand, everyone sells crap along with good units.
