whats the difference between caviar and non caviar Western digital drives?

 

 

yes my spelling is awful. typing on mx reds isnt easy.

Don't worry about the typing. I've had my CM Storm Quickfire Rapid with reds for maybe half a year and i don't make any more typos that I used to now. Just takes that extra bit of time to get used to

as the name suggest, the caviar are the more expensive, faster and more reliable ones.

WD rebranded their product lines a year or two ago. Caviar is an old branding, they no longer use that name.

 

So Caviar drives are basically just old drives.
