i7 9700k memory support

Hi everyone,

 

I just upgraded my cpu to a 9700k and I was wandering if it supports 2166 memory and if it doesn’t, was ram speed do you recommend?

2133 is the base speed. Yes it will

support.

do you mean 2166*2 = 4332mhz?

I don’t think so. In task manager it shows it as 2166 (or 2133). I can’t check because my computer isn’t working and I was wandering if it was because of my ram

Also, on Intel Ark it says “memory support - 2666

Your board and cpu will support up to at least 2666mhz I’d say. 

 

Make le sure you select the xmp profile for your ram in the bios.

Oh ok. I have 16gb hyperx 2133

I meant to say 2133 sorry. My computer freezes when I try installing windows. Is that a ram problem or something else?

Aha thanks fam. However, my pc still freezes when installing windows and I’m not sure if it’s the ram or something else not working
