Vsync stops my frame drops O_o

Ok so can someone explain this to me, in games like fortnite and Forza horizon 4 vsync stops my frame drops O_O When playing fortnite on ultra everything I get serious frame drops into the 20s causing stuttering for no reason, my gpu is capable of pushing the 60fps. I noticed when I enable Vysnc this frame drop stops. Smooth gaming. Like what, i don't understand o.o

When you say frame drops do you mean "tearing"?

Serious question, do you know what V Sync is?

I know what V sync is, I know what tearing is. I'm saying frame drops, from 90-20 or 40 etc etc. In games like fortnite at epic settings. But when I enable V sync, the framedrop stops.
