Hello all.

I'm new to overclocking CPUs. I was wondering if anyone could help me overclock my ancient i7 930? I've seen some guides online but they havent been particularly helpful since I cant seem to find things such as "ioh", "ich", "cpu pll" and "vdimm". I've included my BIOS screen below related to overclocking. The guide I was trying to follow was Method #2 on https://www.overclock.net/forum/5-intel-cpus/538439-guide-overclocking-core-i7-920-930-4-0ghz.html

Basically, I dont want to fry my CPU since I really dont want to buy a new one (despite it bottlenecking my 1070). Something hard and fast would be appreicated (i.e. an imperfect solution as long as it doesnt ruin my CPU). I'm getting sick of frame frops when I play multiplayer games (despite being able to maintain a solid 200fps on Overwatch training range. Everything goes downhill once I go online. By this I mean dropping from 144fps to anywhere between 80-120 fps). I just got a new 144Hz monitor and I didnt realise my frames drops since I used a 60Hz before. Stupid, I know.

Is it ok if I just change my base clock so my CPU frequency is ~3.3-3.5GHz? Thank you.

SPECS:

i7 930 @ 2.8GHz

Zotac 1070

12GB RAM

Some old Gigabyte mobo (think its the X58A-UD3R)

850 PSU by Corsair

UPDATE:

I changed my base clock from 133 to 150 and I have what seems to be the desired result. Is it safe or do I need to adjust other "things"?
