Hello everyone, I need help with getting a GPU. I'm not planning to overclock, it's just for casual gaming.

The price ($) is in bgn, not dollars. 1 usd = 1.75 bgn. Yes, they're very overpriced.

  • Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 580 4GB 11265-07-20G (380$)
  • Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 570 8GB 11266-66-20G (355$)
  • Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon RX 570 4GB 11266-14-20G (343$)

I used this site to see the average fps of the RX 580 (82 fps) and RX 570 (69 fps), even thought they benchmarked a RX 580 8GB. I calculated the money per frames for the RX 580 - 4.63414634, for the Sapphire Nitro+ RX 570 4 GB - 4.97101449.

Which card do you recommend?

I've seen debates that the RX 570 8GB or RX 580 4GB isn't worth it, what do you think about them?

Tl;dr sapphire RX 570, whichever one is cheapest.

On your list, the 8gb rx 570 pulse at 355$ is the best option.

Though again, look for a used card if possible. They might be much, much cheaper.

I looked a little bit for used cards, and all of them were used for mining cryptocurrencies. Cards used for mining are usually used a lot and aren't the safest option, right? I've heard they can fail faster and aren't as good.

Regarding the rx 570 8gb. What do you mean by:

The 8gb 570 exists for people who dont know what theyre buying and only buy based on box specs like video memory quantity.

I was wondering about the RX 580 nitro+, that it has the best money for frames ratio, and it has the biggest heatsink. But is the RX 570's heatsink is good enough for normal gaming? Another concern is longevity of the card, as in how many years will RX 570/580 Nitro+ /Pulse work given 3-5 hours of daily use?

Thank you for your response!

Is there a big difference between the RX 570 4GB Nitro+ and the 8GB Pulse cards? Is the 8GB VRAM a huge advantage? It's only a 12 bucks difference here.
My biggest issue is I want the GPU to be quiet for as long as possible. How quiet is the Sapphire Pulse?

An 8 GB card would be more 'future proof' and fare better with higher detail settings in certain games. I have a 4 GB version of the RX570 and it seems fine for today's AAA titles.

I've seen some some games take advantage of more than 4GB of VRAM but not many. How many new games are going to use more than 4GB of VRAM?

IMO, 4gb should be plenty for most new titles at 1080 high settings. If you're going to spend extra money on 8GB, you might as well just buy a RX580.

The thing is, the difference here is just 12 bucks between the 4GB Sapphire Nitro+ and 8GB Sapphire Pulse, which isn't much. I'm concerned that the Pulse will be louder.

I'd spend the extra $12 then to double your memory. There may come a time in the near future where you really need 8 GB of vram.

I have the gigabyte version of the RX570. It's a pretty loud card during VR games but I also have it overclocked and the fan curves set aggressively.

You could always use wattman to adjust your fan curve to lower the fan rpms and reduce noise - of course, watch your temps closely for a bit before leaving it.

I'm not planning on overclocking, so i guess it won't be louder than "the stock loudness".

if you are okay with used. I currently have an rx 480 and since the 580 is just a refresh of the 480, its like 5% different and 100$ cheaper. Or you can flash the 480 to run a 580 bios. But just running the 480 and overclocking a lil u basically have a 580. RX 480s on ebay are about $80-$100, make sure u get the 8gb vram model if so.

It really depends, i'd want some kind of warranty but i guess there won't be much with 2nd hand ones, especially with a 3 year old GPU like the 480. I don't wanna overclock, and i bet the shipping will be a lot to europe. Sadly i'll have to decline.

I don't mind, just some people are okay with that and you I would want everyone to know there options yanno. :) But to add onto it, whichever u get 580 or 570, seriously get the 8gb model. I have a 4gb 480 and that extra vram really does matter especially in newer games. its worth it. It is not worth to save the extra 13 something dollars and then have future proof issues.

Hmmm i was just thinking about getting the rx 580 4gb, sadly its 8 gb version is crazy expensive here. So would you recommend the rx 570 8gb over the rx580 4gb? Btw can you give me some examples of games that utilize more than 4gb?

To name off the top of my head, I know tomb raider and BF5 cut it close in vram. But, ITS REALLY subjective, what do you plan on playing, how long do you plan on keeping this card before upgrading. I can sit here and blindly say 'get this blah blah" but realistically those are the answers we all kinda need to know.

how much more expensive is the 580 8gb in your country then the 4gb model?

The 4GB one is 380-400 BGN here, while the 8GB is 510 BGN.
I'm not sure how many dollars the 8GB nitro+ is, but let's say its 200 usd, 1usd=1,75 bgn roughly, which makes it 350 BGN, which would be a great price for such a card, but they're selling it for 510BGN!! I guess they bought them when they were about 260 USD and then increased the price a bit for profit, but as the US prices change i don't see much of change here. I could be wrong about something, if anyone knows what's actually going on correct me. Eitherway, the prices are still high as a stoner. :/

I'll be playing Dark Souls 3, Overwatch, Tomb Raider, CS:GO, Minecraft, and whatever peaks my interest, BF seems fun. Most of them aren't heavy and are somewhat old. I'm not sure how much i'll be interested in upcoming titles, and i haven't been keeping up with recent games, but i guess there's something i'll like. But wouldn't it be safe to say that a rx 580 4GB would be enough for them? Even a RX 570 8GB, whatcha think?

So I all things considered, if I was in this situation I would go with 570 8gb, the extra vram will help with future proofing, stuttering and just all around better. The 570 is like 5-9% slower then the 580, you can just OC that out (if your comfortable it will be new so shouldnt matter if its light overclock whatever your comfortable with). But me , personally, id get the 570 8gb and oc it and it would be VERY close to a 580 and u have the extra vram and you arent spending the stupid price hike. Even if you dont overclock its still worth it in my opinion.

CSGO and minecraft are CPU intensive anyways and csgo everyone plays on low anyways

^^^ I think the warranty difference is down to one being a Pulse and one the Nitro+ (Nitro+ is the next step up). Both should be excellent cards, Sapphire makes good GPUs. I had the pleasure of owning an RX480 8GB Nitro+ for a while, was a hella nice GPU.

Im planning on sticking with this entire PC for about five years. I don't plan on upgrading much.
I wanna ask you something, i really like writing and coming up with stories and i'm really worried that if i get the RX 570 i'll be wasting money by not playing much games. I did mention the games i'm thinking on playing but i don't know how much of a gamer i will be outside that. What do you recommend? Still getting the rx 570? Getting a weaker gpu? Now I'm wondering what GPUs writers get, if they even get one at all.
