Corsair Riser cable

Hi!

 

For my pc Build I am using a Pcie riser cable, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. For some reason the Pcie riser cable does not work plugged into the Pcie 16 x16 slot, but it does work in the Pcie 16 x4 slot... Plugging the GPU directly to the x16 slot tells me that the slot itself is not the issue, also on another much older motherboard the riser and same GPU does work on the x16 slot.

 

It is not a powered riser card.

 

My setup is:

 

MSI z390 gaming X motherboard

Intel i5 9600k CPU

GTX1070 Armor
