So with the upgrade, I am looking at a monitor change as well huh.

Just use DisplayPort?

So I have decided to upgrade from a GTX 970 to an RTX2060super, but the ports on the cards do not have a Dual DVI which is what my Asus VG248QE is currently using.

Should I grab an HDMI 2.0 or some sort of DisplayPort cable?

I would like to use the 1080p 144hz capabilities of the monitor.

Both cables are able to push 1080p at 144hz. HDMI 1.3 is able to push 1080p at 144hz iirc so if you have that laying around you can just use that.

Does it matter what port is on the monitor?

You'd need something like this: https://www.belkin.com/us/p/P-F2CD002-E/

Actually, his monitor supports 144Hz only through Dual-Link DVI.

if your monitor has an HDMI or Displayport you can use any of them. If it only has Dual DVI you need to get an HDMI or Displayport to Dual DVI adapter or cable.

Not true, it supports 144Hz on displayport as well.

I had to buy a display port cable after upgrading to a 2080Ti I have this monitor.

Edit:  I can go ahead and test HMDI as well when I get home, I know the monitor is 1.4, which in theory supports 144hz I believe., the 1.4 standard does say it supports 120Hz and 144Hz on the wiki. It also has displayport 1.2, which in theory supports up to 240Hz

VG248QE is limited to 60 Hz over HDMI. "Version numbers" do not describe the capabilities of an HDMI port unfortunately.

So with the upgrade, I am looking at a monitor change as well huh.
