IGN tries to build a PC... Fail or Not

Guys every piece of hardware doens't have to be top of the line. You don't need all that for a good gaming experience. A 780 is WAY overkill for 1080p gaming and a core i5 2500k even is more than enough.  Hell, I ran a Phenom II 1100T and a 7850 for a long time and gamed at 1080p high settings in Far Cry 3 at 30fps. And so what if the case costs more than the CPU?

If it can mean anything to anybody at any time, it means nothing.

oh dear was that YOUR computer i just downloaded a few dozen viruses on when you weren't paying attention?
