Hi,

So I've recently got a new GPU around Christmas time and everything was working fine. I began to average more frames and the game was much smoother. I originally had a GTX 750 ti and upgraded to a GTX 1060. Up until a few months ago (2-3 or maybe even 4 months), I have noticed that I would get quite dramatic frame drops and stutters while playing. I would be around 150-200 frames only for them to drop to around 10-20 fps. As you probably can tell this has been very frustrating as it would happen in key moments while playing games like Fortnite or when I am simply just shooting some hoops in NBA 2k19.

I have done plenty of research, which led me to update my drivers, change all my Nvidia graphics settings to be the most efficient etc. From what I've read there are 3 main things that could be causing this:

1. My CPU was overheating (AMD FX-8350) and was therefore throttling causing the stutters. But even when I set my fan speed to 100 percent and the core temp was around 45-55 i was still getting the stuttering.

2. There was a memory leak of some kind or just simply a memory issue. I monitored my CPU resources using a resource monitor and found that while playing certain games like Fortnite, CS:GO and 2k19 i would have 0 free memory while using around 8 GB and having like 7GB of Standy memory. I have a Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16GB 1333 MHZ or something I believe, I'll double-check if anyone requests me to.

3. Putting in my new graphics card has messed up the power plan or something similar and is causing some underlying issue that I have no idea about.

I would like to reinforce I am not that competent with computers and some of this may just be useless info but yeah.
