Difference between 270 and 270x

you can find it anywhere, especiialy on this forum, they're the same, both 7870's, both come at pretty much the same clockspeed, both overclock pretty much the same, the "x" has an extra 6 pin to allow for more power BUT while a 270 tops out around 1100-1200 and 270x will top out 1150-1250, no its not really worth it.
that said if you have a choice between the same brand cards and the "x" is say $5 more then maybe you would get it for the e-peen..

Hi, I can't really find a straight simple answer. I was wondering what the difference between the r9 270 and r9 270x is in simple terms? I need to buy a graphics card for my dads build and don't know which I should go for.

I think its simply a clock boost to my knowledge and apparently slightly higher pixel rate

So its not really worth the extra £20 for one? I assume the normal 270 is the re branded 7870? Which would be the same card as I have and that works fine.

Well my budget allows it so I am going to go for the XFX 270x.

Yes to my knowledge the R9 270 is a 7870 and the 270x is a 7870 GHz or just clocked at that

It's an exta £20 but the normal 270 won't be dispatched for 1 - 2 months whereas I can get the 270x Saturday.

oh you're in the uk, wait your sig says you have a 7870 already, you wanting to crossfire?

where you shopping to? ive been looking at the msi r9-270 gaming for £137 but might go r9-280x.

id suggest those 2 options overall, the difference between a 270x and 270 isnt worth thinking about let alone paying for.

Its not going into my build and I wanted it from Amazon as I have Prime and want it tomorrow and ain't paying extra for shipping. I went for the 270x because it was in stock and I wasn't paying for it :P
