It is an optical sensor (Avago ADNS-3090) so it should be pretty accurate and the software is pretty decent imo. But not sure how good it is in terms of build quality because they used plastic instead of aluminum on the m60/m65.

I have an m40 and i recommend it becuase it is not that much money and it has the amount of buttons i need on a mouse and it also has a really nice feel to it but at first it feels wierd but you get use to it and you may eventually really like, like I do and also the scroll wheel is really nice as well

Christian and Proud of it

I like my M40, the only downside is that you can only choose wetween 800, 1600, 3200 and 4000 DPI, so get the M45 ;)

I play on 600-700 DPI so that could be a problem :/

I have it. I like the shape, it has a great sensor and doesn't look too flashy. I would recommend the newer M45, though.

Whats the difference between the m40 and m45?

The difference is that with the M45 you can choose from 50 to 5000 DPI and with steps from 50 DPI.

Oh thats awesome! I have an m65 black w/ blue LEDs but it doesnt quite match my build color of black/red so I was going to give this to my brother and buy a new mouse. Itll probably be the m45 but the Steel series Rival also looks appealing. Do you have any knowledge of the Rival?

No, but just get the M45.

Edit: You love the feel, why the SS Rival?

I went from M40 to Rival because of the more customizeable DPI (800 is too low and 1600 too high for me). If M45 had come out earlier, I would have got it over Rival, though.
