I know that on my Sapphire 7950 3L fans I can pop the fan of the motor and oil it, but does anybody know if it is possible on an asus 280x DCU2.

no because it shouldn't need it.

well one of the used ones I bought did need it, since after I oiled the shaft it stopped rattling and the fan returned to a normal rpm (it was visibly slower than the other fan on the same card)
