Unplayable frames

ken2020

I'm trying to play Alan Wake and the frames are in the upper teens and low 20.

I have a Q9550 CPU, Gt 1030 GPU and 8 GB of ram ddr2.  It's a Dell Optiplex 755. I can play CSGO no problem and Fortnite.

i have the same gpu, i got the game for free yesterday, all went fine, smooth in 30 or 40 fps, perhaps more in medium settings 1080p

if you dont have better fps the problem is your old cpu, is not up to the task, i have a r3 2200

the game is from 2010, the Q9550 is from 2008 and is more than adequate for alan wake.

from other information im reading on this, the game has a lot of weird issues with drivers and specific ingame settings

try a clean install of your 1030 drivers and try without any AA options running.

a lot of people are mentioning that its a completely unoptimized mess and tends to just break if its not on era hardware

that q cpu must be running at lower than 3ghz

the game can run on that, single core, but not at 1080p i think

as confirmation try to run the game at 720p or lower in low settings

Yes, it runs at 2.83 GHz and 720p on low setting everything.
