Ram upgrade

in my system now i have 8GB (2x4) of ram, I wanna upgrademy ram. do i upgrade it with 8gb more or do i add 16gb?

I generally recommend people to buy the same RAM that they already have installed in their system. So buy 8GB (2x4GB) of whatever RAM you have now.

Yes, as long as it's the same that you have in your system right now.

if you MOBO does not support Quad Channel, and your CPU also does not support it. adding more 4 x 2 will gives almost zero extra performance.

i have a b450 aorus elite MOBO and ryzen 3 2200g but i am planning on upgrading the cpu to a ryzen 7 2700x maybe

you MOBO only support 2 Channels. adding more ram can be readable ( task manager showed 16GB) but the real benefit is zero.

and no 2200g is dual channel. neither 2700x support 4 Channel. you can found 4 channel on demanding CPU like i9-900k or Treadripper.
