New Gaming PC

vorsar

Hello.

I am looking to build(my first) PC. As the tittle says it will be used mostly for gaming(maybe some streaming down the road), some intense Excel work as well as some software development activities.

I am looking to spend arround 1300 EUR, and would prefer local(Lithuania) retailers for warranty reasons. The price is excluding any monitors or peripherals.

Since I will be moving the PC arround the house alot(practically going to be moved as a laptop for some time) I need a wifi(Dual band AC) solution for it.

I went and used the 1250 EUR Germany parts list as a reference and what I am looking for is mainly advices if the build will still work with the parts I have changed(see below original part picker list).

And this is what I came up with at the end:

  • 264,00 EUR Intel Core i5-9600K
  • 217,88 EUR Gigabyte Z390 AORUS PRO WIFI - the only mobo matching Extreme4 specs that had WIFI that i could find, it also had the benefit of rgb synch with graphics
  •   82,89 EUR G.SKILL Aegis 16GB 3000MHz CL16 DDR4
  •   72,49 EUR Crucial P1 500 GB M.2-2280 SSD
  • 507,00 EUR Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB GAMING OC - cheapest, 2070 goes for, arround here is 490 so I decided to sprend an extra 17 and get the OC one
  •   68,99 EUR Cooler Master MB511 RGB Mid Tower - chose this one for looks and air intake
  •   84,99 EUR Be Quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600W - chose the +100W more cause of the swapped mobo and graphics card
  •   35,49 EUR Arctic Freezer 34 Esports Duo

Total: 1333,73 EUR

PS. Do I need the anti-static wrist strap to build the PC?

PS.2 Would also appreciate wireless keybord/mouse recomendations(Not included in he build price)

Get a 3700X. Buying an i5 9600K is a waste of money when Zen 2 exists. It's slower than the 3600X and costs almost as much as the 3700X when you factor in the expensive cooler and board.

The Zen 2 (3rd Gen Ryzen) lineup has effectively knocked the i5 out of the pool.

The 3700X is a spectacular multicore performer, with a full 10 threads more than the 9600K. (Which is not a good chip for workload either way.)

I personally don't love that the Focus G doesn't have a PSU cage... It does have nice airflow and comes with some fans included.

As I understand this set up would require a sepate board for wifi?

Also forgot to mention that I have a couple of laptop HDDs that Im planning to hook up so I have no need for a HDD in the build. Should i keep the 2070 in that case?

You could do a PCIe wifi adapter for 15 bucks or so. But if wifi is a need, I'd actually just ammend the build to include this MOBO instead:

https://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/t797YJ/msi-b450-gaming-pro-carbon-ac-atx-am4-motherboard-b450-gaming-pro-carbon-ac

It's about the same price as the tomahawk + wifi adapter and has native wireless. It's a very solid board (with some nice RGB!).

Without 60E going toward a HDD, and with wifi as a requirement... Here's my ammendment:

I went just a few bucks over to include a 2070 Super. It will be a decided improvement.

Frankly if you're not overclocking the 3700X, the eSports Duo is an unnecessary spend right now. If you needed to bring the total down a bit, just use the very competent stock cooler on the 3700X.

@trevb0t

Because of stock issues this is what I have ended up with:

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X

MSI B450 GAMING PLUS ATX

GIGABYTE RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING OC 8GB

Crucial P1 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

be quiet! Pure Power 11 CM 600 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply

Cooler Master MB511 blue/black

And the problem is that the relaiter i have ordered the Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory just informed me that their out of stock, as apparently all of local retailers(as well as amazon) are of that ram @ 16 gb and 3200 MHz

Is there any alternative you could recommed that would be a good replacement for the RAM? I'm willing to spend some cash extra because of poor supply?

Would Kingston HyperX Predator RGB 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 CL16 DIMM (Kit of 2) XMP work?

Any brand should work. I like:

Corsair Vengeance

G. Skill Ripjaws

Crucial Ballistix

Those Hyper X units are great, but often very pricey.
