[HELP] Cant have 144hz with my RTX 2060?

nicklas

I recently bought a MSI  RTX-2060 GamingZ graphic card
and when it came, it didn't take my DVI cable
So i bought a Display-port cable and then i figured out that my monitor didn't take that cable...

Then i found a cable that was a Display-port cable to DVI-D which my monitor can take and the Display-port  which my RTX card can take
And now i cant get 144hz? wtf is going on?  iv had a DVI-D to HDMI cable before on my old pc with 120hz?
Did i buy the wrong cable again or whats happening?

144hz in most monitors is only working with DisplayPort.

try HDMI 2.0 and tell me if its not working.

DVI wont do 144hz.

Quoting from the sticky thread in this category:

If you are trying to connect to a 120+ Hz display, you need a Dual-Link DVI active adapter. Be warned that there are many fake "Dual-Link" DVI adapters which are really only Single-Link adapters in disguise, and will be limited to 60 Hz at 1080p. Shop carefully.

Does your monitor even support 144hz? If it doesn't have a display port connection I'm thinking it doesn't.

So your graphics card didn't support dvi? If yes then you should have known before you bought it.

You mean that your monitor doesn't support displayport? (Can't imagine that tbh)

DVI-D can. If it's a Dual-Link you can get 1920x1080 with 144Hz.
