Help Schiit Audio

Hi UwU,

I wanna upgrade to higher-end audio but there is so much to learn. I was going to pick up an xlr mic + AT headphones and want to use a schiit asgard + a bifrost dac to run the headphones. Can I use the asgard's build in preamp to run the mic rather than buy a separate one. if so, how? It hasn't got an xlr connect and using an adapter rca is less preferable from what I heard. on top of this I would need the an A to D converter, like the Jil, right? 

In short, I want to buy a schiit stack to run headphone + xlr mic. How do I do this?

Also, the reason I have chosen schiit for everything is because of good reviews and sticking with one brand is easy.

While schiit is a good brand no matter what price point these days they get beat by someone In performance. Tune amps? Grabs darkvoice, amp under a $375 grab a atom or a liquid spark, amp under a $1000? grab the thx 789 or 788 amplifiers. DAC? Grab a topping, a geshelli labs , a jds labs or a khadas tone board which is basically th e best measuring dac Under a $1000 for only a $100. Best to save money grab a jds labs atom or a liquid spark and a khadas tone board or a another DAC. And get audio interface for your mic. I don't believe you can run your mic through bthe asgard as that pre amp is to just run the signal from one amp to another amp or source if needed

Thanks, I didn't understand that an audio interface was separate. And I think I will drop the schiit in favour of your suggestions

With your budget you could go for a Scarlett interface along with a jds labs atom and a DAC of your choice. The best performing right now is a khadas tone board but it's just a bare board you would have to buy a case separately. Their a lot of other great dacs like the topping d10, d30 the modi 3 isn't bad or the geshelli labs enog 2 pro.

But cases for the khadas are pretty cheap you can find them for under $20
