Never had an AMD system before but now it seems absolutely worth it for the price/performance.

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NkCHkd

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor  ($329.00 @ B&H)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler  ($106.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: MSI X570-A PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard  ($159.98 @ OutletPC)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory  ($76.59 @ Amazon)
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 500 GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive  ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB ROG Strix Gaming OC Video Card  ($719.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Thermaltake View 37 ATX Mid Tower Case  ($150.00)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply  ($96.96 @ OutletPC)
Total: $1729.50

I'm going for the Dark Rock Pro as I've read that the 3700x (with the wraith cooler) runs hot. I'm not fussed about overclocking as I don't think it's necessary for my needs, but I do want a cool and quiet system.

This is for ultrawide 1440p gaming. I've already ordered the monitor - MSI Optix MAG341CQ.

Re the motherboard, I don't need wifi as I have a wired network, but as it's the cheapest MSI x570, is it still a good board?

Any thoughts/problems you can see?

Cheers.

thanks. I think I agree on the motherboard and memory you chose. re the Noctua and BitFenix, any reason you would choose those rather than the BeQuiet and evga Supernova, rather than price?

Evga supernova g3 has issues with over current protection. So I wouldn't recommend it. That bitfenix one is a great unit.

Noctua nh d15 and be quiet dram rock pro 4 perform similarly with a slight edge to noctua. But the be quiet  looks more attractive. Noctua was cheaper,so I chose it. If you don't like the look of that noctua, then you can add a chromax kit on top of it.
