So i was thinking of getting an rx5700xt around december however xbox has confirmed that its releasing around holidays next year so october-december, so from my conclusions i have made is that new navi cards and rtx 30series will launch around early march-june. The reason for this is because clearly the xbox and ps5 are not using the rx5700 or 5700xt because otherwise they wouldn't have "raytracing" i say ray tracing in qoutes because i dont think they can have raytracing around 500 pound mark.

so i was thinking do i buy an rx5700xt in december or wait till the new super or navi cards in 2020?

The reason im debating this is because i have a gtx1050ti which well it does the job but i would actually like to utilise my 4k monitor and i doubt my gtx1050ti will run cyberpunk 2077 and doom eternal

Yo, go with what you can buy right now, bcuz by the next year new gpus will still be priced at 400-500€

and NAVI10 may drop down the price a lil bit, but then again you may be looking at performance difference of 10-20%...

Like with RX580 and VEGA and now NAVI

buying RX580 or NAVI us pointless bcuz NAVI is much stronger GPU, even tho you can buy some of these models for 200€ or less now days

so waiting is basically irrelevant

Tho i heard current NAVI scales poorly with 4K

Maybe Radeon VII or even better 2070S for 4K 60fps

but for 4K it is really only the best gpu 2080Ti to keep everything always above 60fps or so

And I think PS5 is gonna have NAVI and Ryzen in it or something between those two in one APU, bcuz AMD has the best performance per value

no, 3000 series should come out 2021. 2020 is too soon. i would be extremely suprised if they release it then. it would probably piss off allot of people xD

a rtx 2070 super can do raytracing 60fps+ at 1440p yes.

But if  AMD releases any better GPUs than they currently have, they'll beat even SUPER gpus haha

so Nvidia, im sure, is ready and prepared to even lunch 3000 series next year if that's gonna be the case

The thing is AMD caught intel with their pants down due to 10nm manufacturing issues. So that allowed then to pull off a recent win.

Nvidia on the other hand isn't really having the same problems and havent had any contenders at the high end for a good while. So I feel thos isn't going to change in the next year.

Now intel on the other hand might being something that hits the gpu market pretty hard, but that is still a ways out.

yeah, but the dude said 2021 nvidia to releases gpus and and i say amd will in the next year 2020

and nvidia always follows so all i said is nvidia is gonna put more powerful gpus out in 2020

as a counter against amd otherswise amd would best it

like 5700xt is already close and with 15-30% stronger gpus they could move to 2080-/ti ez

that is if invida doesnt counter their gpus as it did recently w SUPER series

they will always be ready. because the thing is.. nvidia is still better than amd gpu wise. amd needs to be on 7nm to even come close to nvidia. thats actually scary. while i applaud amd for coming far they still have allot to go..

Well, while nvidia is only GPU manufacturer, AMD is both, GPU and CPU wise and that's why they cant be 100% on the top same as for nvidia same goes for intel

but while nvidia is always doing something new and doesn't lack behind intel did exactly that, they became too comfortable with everything, since they have billions they dont need to do anything rly haha

back to the case.. while nvidia is always pushing at least 10% past the hundred one amd is trying the same but managing cpu and gpu manufacturing at the same time is no easy

and instead of focusing one BIG team on one thing, they do both =$

but for staying close at least somewhere like mid range is really great accomplishment by itself already ?

Nvidia likely won't have anything in 2020, 900-1000 was 2014-2016; 1000-2000/1600 was 2016-2018. they're averaging 2ish years between releases with a few specks of lower end releases, since it was the end of 2018 and early 2019, I'd say expect something from nvidia in 2021. AMD might have something else but there is no guarantee that they will release anything higher end.

amd gpu and cpu devision arent one team ;)

amd is going great with the new 5700 series however.. thats 7nm and boy those cards get hot. And personally i think that nvidia can easily make cards that keep always beating amd. I love amd's competition though. and if their newer navi cards will for example be around 600 euros but beat a 2080 super than i'll perhaps jump the ship to amd gpu wise. Since i already abandoned intel cpu wise.

But im a sucker for graphics soo.. if the 2080 continues to drop price ill consider picking that up. after i upgraded my powersupply. it may be able to handle a 2070 super. but not a 2080 and above lol.

actually there is. there are 2 more gpu's that amd will bring out and those will be high end ones. the 5700 is now their new navi low end gpu.
