Mouse options

Spoiler

(I am reposting my status update as a thread, hopefully to get more replies)

The middle mouse button on my G502 is starting to become a bit inconsistent, so I'll probably have to buy a new mouse soon. The mice that I am currently considering are the following:

  • New G502
  • G Pro Hero
  • G305
  • G Pro Wireless
  • Deathadder
  • Zowie S2
  • G203
Spoiler

I kinda like the shape of the G Pro Hero, but since it's so much lighter than the G502, it'll take some getting used to and I'm not sure I want to do that. lol

The main use (I think it's kinda obvious) is gaming (more specifically FPSs)

Have you considered a Steelseries Rival 600? I went for it when I needed to switch my G502 and it feels great so far.

No, I haven't. But I will take a look at it. Weight wise it's closer to the G502 than the G Pro is (96g vs the G Pro's 83g), so it might be easier to get used to it. Good call.

Deathadder doesn't have major flaws, nothing special, build quality is meh. If you want something which you'd be wowed by then it's probably not a good choice. Also I've had like 3 deathadders break on me within 2.5 years

RN I'm using a Logitech G603, because it's the cheapest wireless mouse that has a decent sensor. Pretty heavy(like 130g i think) due to AA batteries but has worked wonders so far. My two AA batteries usually last me around 8-10 months of use, or like 500-600 hours of constant use. Pretty good for $70. It's $57 on amazon rn too

Maybe I'm just unlucky with my deathadders because I have friends who have had their deathadder elites for like 2-3 years without a single issue. Synapse is a pain in the ass though

I did take a look at the G603/403 and I didn't really like the shape. The hump interferes with my grip.

I only miss the scroll button from the G502, in terms of specs it's one of the best mice in that budget and has a separate dedicated sensor to measure when you lift the mouse up so it's especially good for people who lift the mouse often

I played around with the G Pro Wireless a bit in-store and even with their tether it's convinced me that I'm going to be replacing my M65 Pro with it (hopefully) by the end of the year. Shape is a bit odd given I've been using the same body mouse for 6 years, but I'll gladly adapt to it for having wireless.

Didn't find it too hard to switch from Deathadder Elite to G603, although the different weight was a little trippy. I just checked and I'm at full battery after 500 hours/9 months of use. Somehow.
