So everything started earlier in the day when randomly my monitor just went black. It has happened before and I fixed it by turning off my computer and monitor, disconnecting the Display Port and waiting a few minutes. I know it sounds a bit crude but it worked and it has always worked. The first strange thing was that fifteen minutes after that, the same thing happened. I did the whole procedure again and it seemed to have fixed it. Unfortunately, a few hours later my monitor went black again and although quite irritated I tried it again. That's where things went bad. I did it about three or four time but nothing happened so I decided to open up the case. Everything seemed normal but when I went into the BIOS, it said that there was nothing connected in the slot.

Things that I have tried:

  • resetting the BIOS
  • moving the GPU to another slot
  • changing a few settings for primary graphics card and multiple displays

But all of that was to no avail.

I'm currently using the Intel HD Graphics from my CPU and I'm desperate for any help.

PC Specs:

CPU: Intel i7-8700k

GPU: MSI 1070 Gaming X

Motherboard: MSI Z370 Krait Gaming

PSU: Corsair AX 860
