Sorry for long winded post but here goes.

I started with an msi b150m mortar and a 6700k(stock) with 32gb of vengeance lpx 3000mhz RAM, Samsung 860 Evo 500gb ssd, windows 10, and an evga xc ultra 2080ti. I swapped to an msi b450 tomahawk and a ryzen 5 3600(no x). Everything else is the same. I updated the bios to the new version which I believe was successful because I was able to boot and see in the bios that it had the updated version. However, from the git go I had issues with posting on a restart, or basically any time I had to shut it down which quickly devolved into just not posting at all. When I say not posting I mean that the fans would ramp up immediately, then it would hang, or they would ramp up and then come back down but I would get no output to my monitor from either the gpu or the motherboard. Everything else seemed to be working fine, just no video. The few times I was able to get into windows it ran perfectly with the exception of fans running like crazy due to them being on a non pwm splitter which I shut down the computer and removed to plug them directly into the motherboard. Since then I have not been able to post. I am exchanging the motherboard right now and will try again with the new motherboard but I am just curious if I am missing something. I tried getting it to post with nothing connected except the 8 pin eps, the 24 pin power, the case power switch and 1 stick of RAM (which was swapped several times for diagnostic purposes) while connected to the motherboard dvi and still got nothing. Many thanks to any help!

Im in a good mood so I will read your entire post.  Alto its TLTR.

From what your talking about its a motherboard issue you have.  Do you see any red lights on it when you try to post.  You can try a different video card or better yet move your card to another PCIe slot and let us know.

OK so I exchanged the board, performed the update several times over now (on the phone with msi currently), I have the red post leds, they are coming on and performing the way they are supposed to according to the guy I'm talking to at msi. I still have no output though and the other pci slot is only 8x and isn't recommended for gpu but I'll try it.

So new driver doesn't help, and while the model number on the sticker on the back of the monitor says it is a XL2430-B the gpu sees it as a XL2430T? I don't know what that is about however I still cannot display to the benq. I cant even click on it in the Nvidia settings. Very strange.
