I have an 8086k. I had it running locked at 5.1ghz with 1.34v. In CPU-Z and HW-info it never wavered, whether it was running a stress test or just idling on the desktop. Always 5.1ghz, as a locked CPU should be. Then, I took out my old hard drive (960 EVO 250gb) and installed a 1tb 970 EVO. I did not change any settings in the bios. No other parts were changed. Now, when I am in windows idling, the clock speed will jump all over the place as if it is not locked. It can still reach 5.1ghz, but it jumps all over the place like a cpu does when it is running stock power saving modes. Bios still shows the same settings as when it was locked at 5.1. Please help.
