Upgrading plans

Hi,

This is my build right now:

i5 3350p

GTX 1060 6GB

Corsair cx430

8 GB DDR3 1600 mhz

Asus p8h61 mobo

500 GB HDD

240 GB SSD

With this build i get a lot of stutters in some games because of the CPU bottleneck.

I want to upgrade this build, and i was thinking of a Ryzen 5 2600 and 16GB of DDR4 and a new motherboard ofcourse.

Is this smart? or do you guys have any other recommendations for the same price?

I've seen some really great deals on used and new 1st/2nd gen Ryzen, definitely take a look at your local used options as I've seen B350 and X470 motherboards for $40 and $60.

You will definitely want to at some point swap out that power supply for something newer and nicer but you won't need to just to upgrade.

You are long overdue for a upgarde. Your 1060 is very capable of bing 60fps sustained in AAA titles. Right now your CPU is bottleneck. Get a new CPU and the video card will always be the bottleneck and what not.
