Hi!

I was doing some occt cpu stress testing to see if my oc was stable when my computer started a "windows maintenance". My computer crashed while doing the maintenace because of instable oc. Are there any chances I got some data corrupted? Windows maintenance includes disk defrag, that's why I'm a little worried. Normally auto maintenance starts when computer is on idle but looks like the guys who designed it didn't have the same definition of the word "idle". lol

Thanks for your answer guys!

Have you tried booting the computer since it happened? If so, does anything seem out of the ordinary. I think the most likely affects to occur could be some programs might not load, because they are missing a file (most likely because that file was moved else where on the hard drive and the index file on the HDD was not updated).

If the OS runs fine, then there is nothing to worry about. Just ensure all your programs are working correctly. If they aren't, reinstall them and they will be fine  ^_^

I would advise revising your overclock and make sure it is stable to prevent anything worse happening

No problem, it's what we do here, on Linus Tech Tips forum  :D

Let us know how it goes, if it is a success, or you're still having problems.

Run chkdsk just to be sure. Make sure you go to msconfig and select the boot option with only the basic devices and services when overclocking.

Why do i always get blue screens? Why not a red one for a change?
