Need advice for a monitor ! (1080 or 1440p)

Hi,

I'm pretty new here and I need advice (because I'm not an expert at all !) on my next monitor.

I actually play on a "gaming" laptop with 1080p, 120Hz monitor, I also got a 2nd screen (1080p, 60Hz) but I just bought a gaming PC.

I'll got a Ryzen 5 3600 and a RX 5700, probably enough to play on a 1440p, 144Hz monitor (which I don't have).

I'm not planning to keep my 2nd screen (1080p, 60Hz) as primary monitor, it would be sad with a such build.

That's why I came here for advice, I'm planning to buy a monitor but I don't really know which one. I don't really have a huge budget, let's say the less the better (300€ if possible ...) but I doubt I can get a 1440p monitor for this price.

If my budget is too tight I'll probably go for a 1080p, 144Hz monitor.

Thank you very much.

(Sorry for my learning english)

I've found only:
Samsung C27JG5 27"
HP 27xq  27"

Samsung is VA panel with decent colours (this one has bad colour reviews though, but it's still better than TN). It might suffer from slight ghosting.

HP monitor is TN, so you don't need to worry about ghosting. The colours might be a bit worse though.

Both are 144hz 1440p. Where do you live btw.?

I leave in France !

Yeah, I know this is a very tight budget for 1440p monitor (at least in 144Hz)

My best solution is probably to buy a good 1080p one and go for a 1440p in few months

I prefer 1080p. More frames is a necessity for me. But thats for FPS games. 1440 isn’t bad but depends on what you prefer, better field of view and more real-estate when not gaming as well.
