Heyo I finally have a need to create a forum post. I've never touched AMD before but interested for once, my budget is $500 Max and only need a Mobo/ CPU / DDR4 Ram. Here are my current main specs:

Cpu: i7 3770

Motherboard: Asrock Extreme 4 z77

GPU: GTX 980 x2 SLI (Using in new build)

DDR3 Ram: 28gb

PSU: 750W Cooler Master (Using in new build)

I plan on ordering around 22nd, found 16gb ddr4 3200 ram for like $80 so got that covered. Currently been looking at Gigabyte - X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard and Ryzen 7 2700x. Firstly is my research looking good for compatibility or are there better parts I should do?

Is this rig strictly for gaming? If so, the Ryzen 5 3600 is a better fit for your build.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

It will be yes. Should I be worried for SLI compatibility or just kinda meh it as long as it supports the cpu generation ?

You should be fine for most high end boards, pcpartpicker's filter says your current selection, the Aorus ultra gaming, is 2 way SLI compatible so I think it's a good choice. Also, since it's a 400 series chipset, it will likely need a BIOS update to accommodate a 3000 series CPU, so AMD's free boot kit is recommended.
