cpu socket and thermal paste.

this may sound like a stupid question but is it possible to blow out or clean a cpu socket if you accidentally get thermal paste such as thermal grizzly kryonaut in the socket holes? also do you have to replace a motherboard if that happens?

Kryonaut is not conductive, so it may cause connection issues for the pins, but shouldn't short anything out.

 

I'm seeing some people suggesting isopropyl alcohol, canned air, and a toothbrush to clean it out on various forums. Not sure how well that'll work though.

is a intel socket or amd socket

 

air and isoprphyl alcohol would work well, on intel the socket is so delicate, you can touch it or use canned air near the pins

Use some Q-tips and some isopropyl alcohol to get the surface bits off.

If there's still some down in the pin holes, a can of compressed air should take the rest out.
