Case fans

Hi guys, when you buy a case with let's say 3 front fans included, are those fan cables connected into one or are they 3 separate cables? If you know what I mean. Do i need to have 3 case fan pins on my motherboard just to connect 3 front fans? I ask because i have 2 system fan pins on my motherboard, and I plan to have 3 front, 1 back, and 1 or 2 on top of the case, so I don't know if I buy a fan spliter with 4 pins, will that be enough?

So, are the front fans that are included in the case, all connect into one pin and take 1 pin on motherboard, or do they take 3 separate pins on my motherboard (which doesn't seem that efficient).

It largely depends on the case. Some cases have a dedicated fan controller which the fans are connected to. If there isn't a controller, there are probably 3 separate fan cables
