whats the difference between

"YCbCr 4:4:4"

"YCbCr 4:2:2"
"RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format Studio (limited RGB)"
"RGB 4:4:4 Pixel Format PC Standard (Full RGB)"

these are my options in my advanced radeon settings. i have no idea what any of these are. I tried the one is was on by default (top one) and i tried the bottom one.. the only difference i noticed was there was way blacker blacks on the bottom one, but it was too black on many things. like it blocked the transparent grey screens where you could see things behind them in the first one and made the whole box (and my taskbar) pitch black.. and i dont wanna click on every single one of them to see what happens.

anyone have a laymans terms they could shoot me?

The pixel formats should be chosen to match whatever is used by the display. Full RGB for computer monitors, Limited RGB for TVs.

There is no reason to use YCbCr unless the TV doesn't support RGB color.

That's black crush. Probably need to set RGB Limited then. There is not really a universal correct option, it is just about matching what the display is using.

oh ok.. so it having "black crush" means its not a compatible format or something? someone said the rgb mode was the correct mode for a monitor and the pcbcr was for tv's.. but im getting black crush on the rgb mode
