so i finally got my 4k monitor back(i had to RMA it)

and i decided to play some games because why not

so i fire up gta 5 and im greeted by this: 1189mhz while at 100% gpu load

laptop: Dell xps 9510, 3.5k OLED, i7 11800h, rtx 3050 ti, 2x16gb DDR4 @ 3200Mhz, 1TB main drive, 2TB add in ssd

You say 1189Mhz at 100% load. But in the picture it is 1189 at 0-1% load. Which one are you asking about?

 

If your problem is 1189 at 0% load then I think the problem could be that, on Nvidia Control Panel you have GPU power set to "High Performance". High Performance power mode is known to make GPU's run at higher than normal clock speeds at idle. Change it to Optimal and your GPU should go back to how it is "normally".

What settings are you using? Because the perfCap reason implies you weren't really loading it.

 

Note that GPU load is likely "the GPU had something to do" rather than "the GPU was working this hard"

The clock speed is flat throughout.

i was running very high settings at 4k and i was getting about 25 fps

a bios reflash fixed it though
