Since my last post new stuff came to my attention. A gtx 780 dcu2 costs 500 usd, while r9 290 dcu2 costs 600 usd. Im going for a three monitor setup, three pa248q, so I will get two of either of these gpus. Since the 780 vs 290 are close in perfomance, would this scale out to three screens in sli? Would it be worth waiting and grinding my teeth with the gt520 i currently own, to get a maxewell gpu? Sorry I made yet another post, but this is a decision that I will make for the next 3-4 years, so going wrong here is bad.

The main issue with 3 monitors is VRAM usage. It may be worth waiting for maxwell to see what they are like.

AMD still has issues with frame rating when using crossfire and multiple monitors I think.

EDIT: If you don't want to wait, then I'd go with the 780s. Or you could buy a 780Ti and add another later

AMD cards suck now that miners use them.

We don't know when Maxwell will come out,so you could wait(it would be better),but it might take a few more months(hopefully before April).

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

Yeah, which is why im starting to lean away from AMD, but I dont wanna wait three months, and no one currently know anything fo rwhen maxwell will be released.

Yeah miners made the cards over priced sadly. Hopefully but no one knows.

In that case, I'd probably go with the 780s. Or like I said, if you're willing to spend more money, go with the 780Tis. You'd be surprised at how much 3 monitors takes to run well

Im planing on getting a maximus 6 formula mobo, woul di tbe worth to drop it to a msi gd65 or a gigabyte ud4h, and save a tad more and go with the 780 tis, and then add a sound card later. Also since nvidia takes less power, is 1000watt over kill, and should i drop it to a 850w.

I'd say dropping to the cheaper motherboards is a good idea, you'll have no drop in performance. Sound cards are pretty much useless unless you just want to make your audio louder.

And yeah, 1000watt is overkill. Go for something like a Corsair AX860.

i was going for a corsair rm1000, will drop it to a rm850, ax860i would actually be more then the 1000 watt. Is the ud3h, a good mobo, its really cheap only 155 usd on newegg, cant figure out the comrimise.

I'd recommend going with something other than the RM series, they don't have very good capacitors. The UD3H is a good board for the price. I had the Z77 one a while ago and it was solid.

Logan from tek syndicate uses a rm in his personal machine, never would have thought that it would be bad.

They're not bad, just that the capacitors aren't very good. They're pretty solid PSUs, but there's better ones for around the same price

ACX is better. It still uses the reference PCB though, so they'll work with waterblocks.

Im not planning on water cooling any time soon. I was going to grab a h100i to cool the 4770k, would i tbe better to get something like a enermax black twister, im not planning on over clocking, but want the cpu cool.

Either way, the ACX version is better. If you're not wanting to overclock, then you may as well go with a quiet CPU cooler to keep the system quiet and cool instead of an H100i. At the price of the black twister, you may be better off with something like the Shadow Rock from bequiet!

There's an offer on a SeaSonic X-850 which will take it down to around $150 with shipping, but the offer ends soon. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seasonic-power-supply-x850

Other than that, there's a Silverstone Strider Gold 850 http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-ST85FGS&c=CJ

Corsair vengence 16gb 1600mhz ram

2 780 (non ti) lightning cards

Segate Barracuda 2 tb

Samsung 840 evo 250gb

Corsair rm850

Corsair h100i

Corsair sp120 quiet edition

Sounds pretty good. Are you going to be using this exclusively for gaming? If so, you can do with a 4670K and maybe 8GB of RAM and save yourself some money.

No, im going to edit vids, stream, and record gameplay. And teh 16gb is good even if i wasnt because easier to upgrade in the future, but the 4670k is a solid option, just i will take advantage of the hyper threading. Also will be running a minecraft server, while recording it with my freind.

Ah, in that case, the build you have planned is pretty good.
