ok so this is strange, my 980ti is running at X4 instead of x16,but before i got to x4 it was running x8.....i reseated the gpu several times and from x8 i went to x4,not sure what to do,i know there is a reg hack to force it to run gen3 16x but i cant find that page now,and this is a brand new motherboard and it worked fine until i updated the bios but honestly  i cant say that caused it but who knows,i think maybe the gpu itself is faulty it is old,i guess i should try a re-flash of the bios? just dont want it to be worse after lol,oh and this is the asus maximus ix extreme board.even in the bios i have no option to change the pcie or gpu setting they are greyed out.

well ok now its fixed!! all i did was remove gpu turn pc on wait 5 mins, then re-installed gpu,now running 16x @ 3.0!! finally lol interestingly enough my unigine bench scores werent all that different from 4x to 16x maybe 100 points difference if that...so there goes the myth of 16x being much faster for benching lol
