Getting viruses from Virtual machine

Hi everyone,

I just installed Kali linux on a VM(using oracleVM) and got this nonstop alerts from my windows 10 antivirus

The object type alerts listed trojans, hacktools,xploits and funny enough something called "not-a-virus"

 

The antivirus kept blocking stuff until I turned off the VM. How can I use this vm safely?

Make sure you're not sharing any folders or files between the vm and your desktop.

All the stuff in there is fine, they're tools that Kali Linux comes with and is trying to download/update.

It looks like your antivirus is intercepting the packets received by your vm; what kind of network connection did you set?

just the defaults, didnt do anything especial

I thought that the VM was isolated from my desktop, Should I just turn the antivirus while using it?

the vm is stored in one of my hdd in a separate folder, is that fine? or should I dedicate an empy hdd to the vm?

Open the vm settings and check what kind of connection you have; if it is set to bridged change it to NAT.
