I've been using a GTX 780ti for the past I think 6 years now? Im starting to see the slow down on it with my FPS not being as high as it used to be for games that keep getting updated and also for newer games.

Would it be best to try and save up to get one of the newer RTX 20 series cards or get something cheaper like the GTX 10 series? If so which one would every recommend? Or even a AMD card?

Gaming is the pretty much only big thing I do with my computer other than editing videos.

TBH the monitor is just a standard HP 1080p display for now (have been using it longer than the graphics card). I plan on getting a 1440p 144hz monitor sometime soon though (probably not until next year).

Games include: League of Legends, PUBG, my entire steam backlog (a lot of AAA games released within the past 4 years [thank you steam sales]), destiny 2, a handful from the xbox pc game pass, and then a handful of ones to come out later this year and next (all the halos, cyberpunk 2077, the new zoo tycoon game that I forgot the name of, the new doom, next call of duty)

Yeah for 1440p 144hz I feel like an rtx 2070/ Vega 56/64 would be good.

I lurk

Vega 56 is the only answer to your question at the moment. It's quite embarrassing that Navi and Turing/Super cards are all going to be overpriced like mad.

Vega 56 can be found around $300 and it's a steal. It's a good 40-50% improvement at least over that 780ti, if not more. You could also go with the 2060 for a little more, but with only 6gb vram it's not particularly ideal for 1440p.

This is a good option:

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/cKhKHx/sapphire-radeon-rx-vega-56-2gb-pulse-video-card-11276-02-40g

Other than that, there's not much to choose from for 1440p at the moment. It's either Vega 56 or going all-out for the higher tier stuff like RTX 2080 or Radeon VII which are in a totally different price bracket. If you're prepared to pay $600 then those would be perfect choices for 1440p 144hz.
