I have the asrock x58 extreme 3 mobo and thermaltake versa n25 case. everything was working fine until yesterday when i found out that my steelseries 7h headphones aren't working. I tried them on a different device and yes they are working and I tried different headphones on the computer and they are still not working. seems to be a jack issue but how come it happened overnight. also i have the case's audio connectors properly connected to the mobo but the front jacks aren't working either for some reason(though i don't know if they ever did before, never tried)

Run DDU "Display Driver Uninstaller" in safe mode and choose drop down box to RealTek.  Do a clean and restart, then your back into normal mode;  Now install the latest Realtek HD AUDIO drivers and let us know what happens.

Ok thanks for trying at least.  There is another solution.  Run System Restore and go back to a date where the jack worked.

Have you tried all holes ?  The RealTek software changes inputs to whatever you want.  Try a different input, You should have 6 inputs,, 1 mic and 1 line in.  Then front and rear and center / sub.  As said before with RealTek onboard it doesn't matter where you connect the jack because the software will recognize and you can choose its use as front speaker or stereo speaker input.  Let us know when you tried all inputs except for mic and line in.  Try the Rear speaker output.  You can use any input for front speakers and headphones, try both rear and front while the realtek control panel is running.
