I have the following motherboard

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c04293944

and wanted to change the cooler so i purchased a Pure Rock Slim which says it fits an FM2+ Socket but it doesnt seem to fit on this board. IIts an AMD Processor and doesnt seem to have the surrounding part for the locking mechanism to clip onto. It seems like the intel bracket the cooler comes with lines up nicely with the holes but they arent screws so I couldnt get the cooler fitted in anyway.

Am i missing something or can someone recommend a compatible cooler.

TIA

It seems like the motherboard doesn't use standard FM2+ mounting holes but instead Intel's 115x holes.

The threads should be part of a backplate that can come off the back of the motherboard.

With it removed, you might be able to install the PR Slim using the Intel push pin mounting hardware.

Yes that done the trick! Thanks for the tip. Was a bit nerve racking removing the bracket on the back but I managed to not destroy the motherboard. Unlike the graphics card that I broke. I removed the fan and heatsink to de-dust it and it stopped working! Thank fully it was only a chep one. Got a new one on (cheap 2GB one) prime and the machine is spot on - sound wise now :)
