Ive been beating my head against the wall for a while with this one. I have a QNAP NAS that is connected to my UPS via USB. The UPS is a APC Backup UPS Pro 1350S. QNAP's software has an option that allows you to alert Network devices to shut down during a power issue. The default APC software does not allow this option. Im lead to believe that there might be a "3rd party" solution? Basically the Qnap software allows me to designate IP addresses that need to be alerted . I would like to have it so my Desktop will shut down or at least go in to hibernation or sleep mode.

The NAS has a static IP and the desktop has its IP address reserved in the DHCP server.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.
