Just asking, why do so many people reccomend the cloud 2, when the cloud alpha is better, and either the same price or cheaper, if you get it used? It doesn't make sense to me. Aside from the issue that some people find the drivers too close to their ears, why else is the Cloud 2 being recommended over the alpha?

probably because people dont know the cloud alpha exists and the cloud 2 is very popular and has been the go to for so long its most people's reflex when being asked for reccomendations. like most poeple dont know the cooler master mh 752 exist and is better than the cloud series but basically the same price

Ahh ok. I'll try and raise awareness of the alpha and the mh 752 series, though I don't have experience with it. Thanks!

sound is objective but the cooler master is based off a better headphone than the clouds are based off of . and more comfortable too.

I think comfort is subjective, but I'm curious, what are both headphones based off?

Yes, but people have different likes. Some people like headsets tight on their head. As for.the cushier pads, that is objective though, have to agree there.

Cloud 2 is just the most popular and well-known. IMO the Cloud Core (non-Stinger) is the best value in the lineup for around $30 used; it's the same as the Cloud 2 but without the (usually useless) USB dongle or the (useless) velour pads, and has a better cable layout.

The Corsair HS50 (normally about $25) sounds better than any of the HyperX headsets but is harder to recommend due to the worse microphone, lower user serviceability, and harder clamp.

In the Cloud Alpha price range there are a couple of alternatives like the MH751 ($60) and PC37X /G4ME/PC373D($75) which make it difficult to recommend.
