i have 2 my passports and both are going strong, auto backup is easy to set up, can't speak for the Seagate software since i have not used it

Ultimately it does not matter, they are the market leaders for a reason, go with what ever is cheaper or which ever design you like more

WD is design wise good and costs cheaper than Seagate. I hope my passport is good speed wise.

Any. Slight bias for WD though since it's more common here in the Philippines and it rarely fails anyway.

It's more a matter of taste! The Seagate BackUp has several versions, some are thin and others ultra thin and others are a hub. As a suggestion, buy the one that can offer you the longest warranty at the best price or offer that you can find at the time of purchase.

Here the price difference is just $0.50 between expansion and backup+ both of them have 3 years warranty.

Well, external HDDs are divided into those that are portable and those that are not:

Backup Plus Ultra Slimbup-ultra-slim-silver-hero-270x270.png

Expansion Portable Hard Driveexpansion-portable-3tb-upper-hero-left-270x270.png

Of course, these smaller versions are limited to a certain capacity and are meant to be carried with you, but if you need more storage space than 4TB or 5TB and do not really plan on moving their location often, you may need one of the bigger versions:

If the price is very similar between one and the other then think about the use that you are going to give to the device and buy the one that has the appearance that you like the most or that best goes with your environment!
