Hello friends,

A friend of mine wants me to build him a cheap quiet PC for his office, something used ONLY for email, web browsing and YouTube, Spotify.

It needs to have 2 display connectors as he wants to connect the TV as well but he will only use one output at a time so keep 'em 2080Tis away. Intel HD 530 will be plenty.

I think something like a NUC will be the cheapest option but they are still expensive. I need advice. Budget under £500, ideally 300-350

Amazon UK, something with 8GB ram, 128 SSD, there will be no files stored on it so no need for bigger but up to 256 is ok, don't want to pay extra for 512.

Which one do you think is best?

Thank you. :)

You can build a nice small form factor PC for very little, what size did you have in mind for the max?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Size doesn't matter. It can even be full tower, he will put it under the desk or something. But since it better be very low power and silent I thought something with a laptop power supply like ref=pd_sbs_147_16?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i will be best.

Having a laptop power supply doesn't necessarily mean lower power, this dual core system is something like he'd want

It's got wifi as well

Seems great but parts cost a lot more in UK and this motherboard doesn't have 2 display outputs. I don't think anyone does. That's why I think this is better ref=psdc_430497031_t3_B077BYJBG2

otherwise I can use this motherboard I got from thrown away All in One with broken screen. It has HDMI output, but only one, the second is input, so I use it at home, great value for £67 - comes with i5-3570S and 2x4GB DDR3 and 500GB SSD (mSATA, slow but does the job)

Literally basic specs (i3 or Ryzen 3, 8GB of RAM, etc) will do for that.

Also, why does he only want to use one display at a time? That will complicate his configuration.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

Hehe. Don't judge my GPU, I am not a gamer, only need CPU horsepower.
