My build:

gigabyte Z170 gaming K3

I5 7600K

GTX 1070Ti

I have been using 8GB of hyperx ddr4 @ 2133mhz for the last two and a half years.

i decided to upgrade to 16gb of hyper x predator 3200mhz which arrived today. I slotted them in and my system turns in for about ten seconds then off again. I tried again with the old ram and they now have to same problem. Any ideas of what to do?

Similar problem over here my pc just shut down randomly and when i tried to reboot it it first posted the cpu led (during this period it would run for 10 seconds then it would shut down and start again trying to post the cpu)

after i switched on and off the psu switch and let it sit when retrying to boot ran into the problem with the ram where the dram led becomes a solid red

did you inserted your new sticks to your mobo, together with the old one? if you removed the old stick and replaced it, check your xmp for the new sticks if it is enabled. what kit did you purchase? 4x4 or 2x8?

I took the old sticks out because I only have two working ram slots because I bent the pins a few years back. It doesn’t stay on long enough to get a signal to the monitor either so I can’t access the bios

try to run the previous RAM sticks, then go to bios. Reset your xmp setting by turning it off. after that, shutdown your PC and install the new sticks. go to bios and set your xmp again.

If it does not work, try to reset your bios setting.
