I have an Aorus RX 580 8GB XTR. I bought it off someone on the used market and i had been using it for a month when i decided to change the thermal paste. When i unscrewed everything on the GPU, I started to pull it open and saw that the thermal pads ripped apart, so i had to buy new ones. First i bought 1.5mm thermal pads for the VRM and 0.5mm pads for the memory modules (they seemed right according to my measurements). After installing them, I realised that the pads on the memory modules were too thin and concluded, that 1mm should do the trick, so i bought those. After switching the 0.5mm for the 1mm, everything seemed to be right. I booted the pc and after about 20 sec, the screen went black and fans started to spin rapidly. I opened the card again and saw that the gpu die didnt have contact with the cooler. I really dont know what to do, i cant find any 0.75mm thermal pads and I really dont want to spend any more money.

What ones did you put on it? More solid gray type or a mushy white or blue type?

Were the ones pulled off orginal? Atleast according to pics?

those that ripped and were the reason to buy new ones

... what did they look like. Are they soft or like what you have now?

Well that isn’t helping much. So either need to measure properly or get proper pads. The thicker really soft stuff.
