Hello guys, I have a ryzen 5 2400g with 4GB DDR4 2400Hz and i was planning to upgrade the ram so i know that would be a silly question, but i have only 2 ram slots so do i get another 4GB ram to benefit the dual channeling  that AMD provides or get 8GB ram stick and have 12(1x4, 1x8) instead of only 8(2x4)?

What are your end plans for the machine?  I ask because it may make sense to sell the 4GB and buy 2x8GB kit of 3000MHz if you're planning on upgrading the thing further.

If you're not, then you're fine getting an 8GB stick or even just another 4GB stick for dual channel.

2400MHz is the maximum supported for my MB and selling the 4GB ram not included in my plans cause it`s still new (10 days) i just found the need to get more than 4GB after I build my setup and might be a chance to get a 8GB one so i just wondering if i get only 4GB and benefit the dual channeling or go with 8GB and have 12GB

Yes.

because from what i saw on the internet reviews you need to have equal sticks for the performance.(not sure 100% so i ask)

I don't know where you read that but it's wrong. If they're on the same channel having different sticks can cause compatibility problems but if they're on separate channels you can use anything.

by different sticks you mean  manufacturing or the size because i have only 2  channels on my Motherboard A320m-s2h

Channels and slots are not the same thing. You have two slots and each slot has its own channel, so you won't have compatibility problems so long as the sticks are supported by the motherboard. If you had two slots on a single channel then you may have problems with a different stick; any difference might cause problems but usually it doesn't happen.

Also your ram will only run as fast as your slowest stick but that shouldn't be a problem.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨
