So I have confirmed that my gpu is broken (980ti), it shuts down any PC that it's installed in during certain loads, such as fortnite or pvz harden warfare. It doesn't do it in stress tests though. My VR headset also doesn't work with it anymore. I am not sure if this is fixable or if I need to replace it. It is out of warranty, if it isn't fixable how much could I sell something like this? It's the water cooled version.

Not much if it's broken.

Some people will buy broken GPUs and try to repair them, but I honestly wouldn't expect more than $100 for a broken 980Ti.

I've had a friend who managed to sell a used RX 470 for slightly lower than what used 470s go for, but the catch was that it crashed in certain games, but performed completely fine in all benchmarks(furmark and unigine heaven were tried i think) and many other games. He sold it saying 'tested 100% working in unigine heaven, furmark and CS:GO'.

I mean technically you could try the same and say that the GPU was 'tested 100% working in stress tests' then sell it for slightly lower than what used 980ti's go for. It's not a very legit way but it's technically not scamming/lying unless they specifically ask if it works in fortnite or something and you say yes

How is it not scamming to sell something broken as 100% tested. You could do this tho but that's your own decision.

I mean, he technically did test it in a stress test and it worked there, so that's all he'll say in the listing. It's technically not lying/scamming but it's not very legit either
