Hello Folk, I left my pc for half on the desktop nothing else running, came back to the left side looking weird, so first I thought it was a graphics card issue and turned off my pc to turn it back on. also did the same for my monitor, noticed it happening even during the boot screen of my monitor, is this just simply image retention that will revert on it's own if left alone? it's the acer k242hqk ips lcd screen.

while yes it may go away by itself, it is not normal for that screen to do that. If its not too annoying to you keep it. if you didnt buy it too long ago ask for an rma !

That resembles the old plasma TV burned in image flaw. It's possible if you put a solid white image up & or solid black after leaving them for just as long that might help it. IPS LED I don't know how susceptible it is to burn in. I'm not a big monitor aficionado.

I've had it for 3 years now, so I sadly I can't get an rma anymore.

about half an hour, usually I turn off my screen completely and put my computer in sleep mode, but now I was working on a project and wanted to take a quick shower and get breakfast, when I got back to it it had this burn in like affect.

it's either a very shitty display or it's just broken. either way if it's burn-in it's permanent.
