Help: Overclocking different speed ram

Go to solution Solved by nick name,

You're gonna be bound to the limits of the worst performing stick.  That means voltage, timings, speed.  So if your 2400MHz needs 1.4V to run at 2666MHz then you gotta run both at 1.4V and 2666MHz.  Same for timings.  If your worst stick needs CL 16 then both will be CL16.

I have 2 sticks of 8gb of ram

corsair vengeance 2666

corsair vengeance 2400

i have a z170 ASU’s board can I overclock them to the same speed? Eg 3200hz?
