Alright so, I have a system that keeps freezing for 2-5 sec, every few seconds. When I first set it up, there was no issue, (This pc is custom mounted in a wooden desk drawer that I made) it started off with whenever I opened/closed the drawer or when it was closed. This stuck out as really odd because there is no strain on any of the cables and there was literally no difference when it was opened or closed and I couldn't replicate the issue by putting pressure on any of the cables or components. Then it evolved to be only when the system was being used heavily, (during high CPU load, or high network usage, especially Ethernet, or high C drive use), but it wouldn't do it at idle. It then got worse to whenever there was user input, it would freeze for a few seconds, and it has now gotten to the point where the system is unusable. I can't even install any os. This problem is consistent across operating systems, and reinstalling it does not help. The only time I don't have this problem is in the bios. I'm fairly tech savvy and have looked online to no avail. Here are the specs, and I'll write next to them what I have done to try and resolve the issue, in case it's a hardware issue.

CPU: 2x X5680 Xeon (have tried switching them, only running each one at a time and I have lapped one of them for better thermals)

Memory: 18 x 2gb DDR3 ECC low profile (i don't know what brand each is, but I also have 2x8gb sticks of vengeance and the problem continues)

GPU: Geforce 210 (nothing special, have tried GTX 960, and onboard, the problem continues)

Storage: Intel ssdsa1m160g2hp, this uses weird power connector and I use an adaptor (I don't believe either of these are the problem, I have tried multiple other drives, HDD and SSD)

Cooler: 2x 120mm AIO

Motherboard: Acer x8dtu-ln4f+-aIO34 (I tried have resetting CMOS)

PSU: Corsair hx750 (I have tried moving the cables to different plugs on the PSU, only one 8pin and changing power outlets. Changing power outlets did stop the issue for a few days. I have also had a faulty HX750 pop in the past. I returned that, got this one and it was fine. This occurred before I had the problem with the system. I have also tried changing the +12v rail to single and multiple. Problem persists)

GPU Riser: RSC-R1UUE8E16 (Tried with onboard GPU, the problem persists)

OS: I have tried multiple versions of Win 10 Pro on different drives, Win 2016 server, and Linux

Note: I had (i believe) a faulty HDD connected. This problem became noticeably worse with it connected, but it is disconnected.

These parts are almost all old server parts, but I don't think them being second hand is a problem because as I said when I first set it up, I did not have this problem. As you have probably noticed, the motherboard is made for a 1u chassis, however, there is PLENTY of airflow, and I have also zip tied fans onto the chipset heatsink, and CPU 2's VRM heatsink. these heatsinks are cool to the touch when in use, so I do not believe it is overheating. This is quite a powerful pc and is extremely frustrating that I can't use it for anything.

Please if you have any suggestions, I would be grateful, Thanks, Mike
